Parenting Stamina Workshop

Parenting Stamina:
Finding Balance and Living Your Values as a Parent
Parenting Stamina is a course designed to help parents identify their values and priorities, as well as the places in our lives where we are or are not meeting those values.  By examining our priorities and our schedules, we can determine the best way to move towards a more balanced, healthy and fulfilling life.  Based on the work of a well-known psychologist and executive coach, this class has been tailored to meet the needs of parents.  The four sessions will each focus on a different topic, allowing time for introspective activities and group discussion.

Class One:  Examining our values, priorities and current commitments

This class uses exercises designed to show us how our values align with our current schedules.  We will discuss why there are imbalances and how best to align what we want with what we are doing.

Class Two:  Stress Management

In this class, students will learn to identify sources of stress and various methods for dealing with it.  We will also discuss time management.

Class Three:  Health and Fitness

This class gives parents a chance to focus on themselves, creating a holistic approach to caring for their bodies.  Basic training plans and nutrition will be covered, along with a discussion of alternative health care practices.

Class Four:  Relationships

Since parenting is all about relationships, this class will introduce a concept called Communication Styles.  Through exercises and introspection, students will learn to identify their own style, as well as the styles of others, and how best to communicate with, and adapt to, each style.

Allison Seldman is a local mother of two small children.  She holds an undergraduate degree in religion, a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and was trained and worked as a massage therapist.  Allison also spent several years as a triathlete before starting a family.  She designed this course based on the principles of Executive Stamina, a best-selling book and seminar written by her father, Martin Seldman.

The series of classes costs $80 and children are welcome to play at The Tree House during the classes.
