We have had such a postitive response for our new Montessori preschool that we have decided to offer an afternoon option!!  We are now enrolling for Fall 2012, for both morning and afternoons.

Morning option: 9:00am-1:00pm
Afternoon option:  1:30pm-5:30pm

Featured Toy: Insect Collection

Inquisitive young scientists will enjoy learning about bugs with this Edu Science 12-piece insect collection.  The kit features 12 interesting insects including a stag beetle, dung beetle, chu ki, bark scorpion, blister beetle, Oriental red & black roach, orange-wing cicada, frog-legged leaf beetle, field cricket, lychee stink bug, flower beetle, and paper wasp. Each bug is encased in a clear resin block, making it easy for your entomologist to inspect each one with the plastic magnifying lens. The booklet offers plenty of information about bugs, with pictures identifying the ones in the collection.

Preschool--Now Enrolling for Fall 2012

We are happy to announce that we will be opening a Montessori Preschool!  It will be a half day program for ages 2-6.5.  School hours will be 9am-1pm, and you can choose for your child to attend 2, 3, 4, or 5 days a week.

Philosophy

We believe that kiddos learn through being an active member of his/her community and that participating in practical life activities will facilitate growth in all areas of development.

Curriculum

We will use a Montessori Curriculum, where children ages 2-6.5 will engage in “works” that are created to target different developmental areas. Peace corner, Sandpaper letters, counting beads, building blocks, 3-d shapes are just a few examples of the materials we will use.  

In addition to the Montessori curriculum, children will participate in yoga classes, art classes, music and movement, drama, and free play. We will plant, care for, and harvest a garden, study creatures that live outdoors, take lots of walks to the bird sanctuary, participate in community service events and visit the library next door for story time.
