What Are Play and Learn Classes?

These parent and child integrated classes will feature activities focused around developmental milestones.  Each 50 minute class will have hands on learning for parents and children that emphasize cognitive, physical, language, emotional, and social learning!  Parents will receive a handout at the conclusion of each class with optional activities to do at home with their child(ren) to enhance learning.

Here are a few examples of hands on learning that will occur in the classes:

9-12 mon: exploring our soft play climbers to aid in large motor development.

18-24 mos: sensory walk with different materials(carpet samples, bubble wrap, sandpaper, etc). Kiddos walk over different materials, comparing textures and then work on language development, as child determines which descriptive words to use to compare textures.

3-4 and 4-5 yrs: letter/object matching, letter rubbings with sandpaper letters, and writing letters in a sand/flour tray all focus on language and literacy development.  Sorting/classifying, nature observation and recording, written conversations with parents, etc....

And of course much, MUCH more!!  Learning can be fun for both parents and children and we want to be facilitators of growth!
